General Questions

A Philippine Visit Visa (Tourist Visa) is a visa issued to foreign nationals who wish to enter Philippine for tourism, sightseeing, leisure, or visiting friends and family.

The main type of Philippine tourist visa is the 9(a) temporary visitor's visa, which is used for pleasure, business, medical treatment, or other non-immigrant purposes. Some nationalities may also be eligible for an e-Visa for tourism or business, which allows for an online application.

Citizens of many countries can visit the Philippines for up to 30 days for business or tourism without a visa, provided they have a valid passport and a return or onward ticket. If you are not from a visa-exempt country, or if you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you will need to apply for a temporary visitor's visa from a Philippine embassy or consulate before you travel.

Visa-free entry: 30 days (for eligible nationalities). Tourist Visa: Up to 60 days, extendable by 30 more days at a local immigration office.

Typical requirements: Valid passport (at least 6 months validity) • Completed visa application form • Recent passport-sized photos • Proof of travel (flight tickets) • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter) • Bank statement (proof of funds) • Visa fee payment receipt
